Thank you for visiting my political page for my candidacy for Election Commissioner District 5 of Lauderdale County.

On Wednesday, May 28, 2008 I made a public announcement that I would be seeking the post of Election Commissioner District 5 in the 2008 election on November 4th. This is the seat currently held by Ann Hall, who has decided after many great years of service to not seek re-election. I was approached a few months ago about considering running for the seat. After a long race in the 2007 election for Supervisor of District 5, I was pretty tired and didn't commit to running for the office at first. I said that I would simply pray about it and discuss it with my family. After several months of prayerful consideration, I decided to give it a shot. I believe that my experience in the political process, serving as everything from a volunteer to a poll watcher, and even up to a candidate myself would make me highly qualified to be able to do this job well. I just hope that I can do as well of a job as Ann Hall if elected. We need to continue to have good leadership in this office to assure all Lauderdale County residents that elections will be run fairly and smoothly and that every vote will count.

Over the next few months I will be going all over the district trying to let the people know why I would like to serve them. I have a servant's heart, and I am ready to do what I have been called to do. I have been building support from people that didn't even support me on my first race. I think many have now realized that I am going to dedicate 100% of my abilities to the job. I don't think youth should be a factor. The town of Muskogee, OK elected a 19 year old Mayor of a town of 38,000 people on May 13th. The Bible verse that he used on his campaign, that I like to read myself is 1st Timothy 4:12. "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." This is a verse that means a lot to me. I hope that my desire to serve the people of Lauderdale County and the residents of District 5 will make you consider supporting me. Thank you and may God bless you and your family.
