Greg Mangum
Greg Mangum was born in Meridian, Mississippi on November 26, 1988. He sang around the house and started writing short stories and songs years before he ever realized that he had a gift of singing. His parents and other family members always told him that he had a talent, and that he needed to use it. Still, Greg never thought that he could sing. Greg began singing in 2004 with a small Christian band in Meridian called "ONE WAY." The band was made up of four Christian guys, including Greg that went to church together at Northpointe Presbyterian Church. The band began to change as time went on as people began to get busy. The members, who were all gifted with great voices began to go their separate ways.
In 2005, Greg decided that he wasn't going to let the band not being together anymore, stop him from singing. He knew that when God gives you a gift, you need to use it. Greg started competing in singing competitions, singing at festivals, and visiting different churches that heard about him. To this day, God has truly blessed Greg for using his talents. In 2006, Greg recorded his first demo CD, entitled "Just As I Am," with a friend, Jack Branning helping out on two of the songs. Greg also was very blessed to have the opportunity in October of 2007 to travel to McMinnville, TN to compete in the Dottie West Music Fest Talent Competition. He was one of the top 25 out of over 120 entries.
Greg is also a member of The International Singing Brakeman Association (TISBA) based in Meridian, MS. TISBA is an organization that meets once a month to celebrate the life and legacy of the "Father of Country Music," Jimmie Rodgers. Greg also plays numerous instruments such as Mandolin, Trumpet, Harmonica, and Keyboard. Greg has been performing for about 4 years now. He has established quite a group of fans and the group continues to grow.
